Afraid To Give Herself To The Night

Utter silence was no longer peaceful

It became unwelcoming, uncomfortable even

The gusty wind was no longer calming

It became goose pimply frightening

A dark place visited unconsciously

Scared to give herself to the night

Dreaded her imagination taking over her

Alone in the darkest room

Moonlight was dancing off the patterned walls

All she wanted was to relax

Instead she’s afraid of the nightmares ahead of her

  1. This is great! It almost feels like the story of my adult life, especially with these three lines:

“Dreaded her imagination taking over her

    Alone in the darkest room

Moonlight was dancing off the patterned walls”

    1. Thank you šŸ™‚ It was a quick one but raw.
Glad you like it. Same with me most nights, looking for a cure hehe
